Love pre-planning your meals, but hate the prep? We do too. Even cooking enthusiasts find it hard to create well-balanced meals everyday while also not eating the same thing over and over again. That's why at Evermill, we want to spice up your meal prep routine by adding a little creativity and fun in the kitchen. Follow along to see a few of our favorite tips to keep your meal prep fresh and exciting, ensuring you'll have great food all throughout the week. We can't wait to see what you create!

Tip #1: Pick some of your favorite recipes that you know you will look forward to during the week. Need a good place to start? We have plenty for you to choose from on our blog.

Tip #2: Invest in a set of durable containers. There's nothing worse than trying to fit all of your meals into mismatched tupperware, so we recommend investing in a thorough set that will be your one and only storage solution.

Tip #3: Put the music on while you cook! Not only are tunes in the kitchen an instant mood-lift, but it will help the time go by fast while you prep your meals for the week ahead. Need a playlist? Check out this one and this one

Tip #4: Write down your meal plan for the week. It can sometimes seem daunting to plan out all your meals in advance, but once you get the hang of it you will realize that you spend a lot less time asking the question “what should I eat?” throughout the day. Here is a great meal prep calendar that you can print out.

Tip #5: Lastly (but most importantly!) use your spices! We frequently hear from people that they are scared to use spices, or don’t understand how to blend the flavors together. But the real secret is not being afraid to jump right in. Either follow a recipe, like the ones linked above, or dive in and try creating your own spice blends.

Here are a few spice blends that you can easily create yourself:

Italian: 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic salt, ½  teaspoon of pepper, 1 tablespoon of dried minced onion, 3 tablespoons dried basil, 2 tablespoons oregano.

Veggie: 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic salt, ½ teaspoon of pepper, 1 tablespoon of dried minced onion.

Chili: 2 tablespoons of chilli powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, 1 teaspoon of coriander, ½ teaspoon of garlic powder.
